MSI is a modification of the ICSI technique, in which sperm samples are examined under an almost 6000 times stronger microscope to better assess their ‘’morphology’’
Embryologist ,with higher power, can establish little mistakes in sperm’s head which is cannot be seen in standart ICSI.
It is recommended for those recurrent implantation failures, recurrent ICSI failures or severe teratospermia (abnormal sperm shape) while benefit has not yet been found for everyone requiring sperm injection.
In substance, it is a choice tool for help embryologist to choose the most suitable sperm.
If sperm number and motility is very low and restricts sperm number which is available for ICSI, then IMSI may not be a good technique for you.
