Nutrition and exercise in IVF treatment

Nutrition and exercise in IVF treatment

Paying attention to the recommendations given before and after the treatment of couples who want to have a baby provides a great deal of support to the treatment. At this stage, it is important to pay attention to a healthy diet by doing plenty of exercise, away from stress.

As soon as the decision for IVF is made, the treatment process begins. This means that the patient needs to prepare himself psychologically. Since the stress factor significantly affects the physical structure, regular exercise, nature walks, proper nutrition, mental and physical readiness increase the success rate of the treatment significantly. Going for a walk at least 2-3 times a week is recommended for couples considering IVF treatment. In addition to exercise, expectant mothers should stay away from fast food and junk food as much as possible, and consume organic, healthy seasonal fruits and vegetables in abundance.

In this process, a great responsibility falls on the father-to-be. The communication between the expectant mother and the mother should be stronger than ever and should be supported. It should be noted that even if it has a negative status, it can be tried again.

There is no difference between a mother-to-be who conceives through the in vitro fertilization method and a mother-to-be who conceives by normal means. Like most things recommended, such as pregnancy follow-ups, nutrition, and exercises, the process proceeds the same.

Another factor that increases the success of IVF treatment is to maintain an ideal weight. Before starting the treatment, being at the ideal weight is one of the important factors. It is very important to consume plenty of fluids throughout the treatment. Coke, coffee, tea etc. Instead, at least 2-3 liters of water should be consumed per day.

During IVF treatment, it is beneficial to consume legumes such as chickpeas, kidney beans, and dry beans at least 2 days a week. It is very important to choose foods with high protein, omega3, mineral values during the treatment period. Instead of frying and grilling methods, steaming, boiling and baking methods should be used. Vegetables rich in folic acid, nuts such as hazelnuts and almonds should be preferred. Sweeteners used instead of sugar should be avoided during the IVF treatment period.
